Potlucks Rule!

First, some flag-waving: The recent OLLI Gastronomer get-together to plan this year's events featured a potluck as an afterthought. My personal opinion: It was the best appetizer spread I've ever seen.

January's event will concentrate on that alone: A potluck. Bring whatever dish and beverage you'd like to share with your Gastronomic pals.

Homemade or pickup: We can all now draw on previous experiences with food from France, Japan, Italy, Sweden, Greece, Mexico, Persia, Morrocco, Peru, South Africa, Afghanistan, India, Vietnam, Jamaica, Ethiopia, Myanmar, Columbia, Israel, China, Korea, Lebanon, as well as the regional foods of Georgia, Texas, Hawaii, Louisiana, New York, and of course California. Whew--makes me hungry!
